Fireworks show! blah!

So we finally made it to Virginia to hang with my sister and her kids! They are so cute! Ok well we got here on the 3rd... so i guess we've been here quite a long time! And we've done lots! Like the 4th of July in Washington DC. That was a fun day! We hung out in DC all day. Ate at a hamburger Joint called Five Guys and then went to "the mall" to watch the fireworks! They were being shot off behind the Washington Memorial. However, it had been sprinkling all day so the whether was really heavy and muggy, and by the time we were supposed to stake out a spot to sit and wait for the fireworks it was pouring, my two year old nephew was screeming, and my four year old nephew was complaining about the rain. So we decided to hop in the car and try to go somewhere else where maybe we could wait in the car and watch them. and my brother-in-law came up with a good spot! So we packed up the kids and headed out... well, the place my brother-in-law was thinking about was all blocked off, and by this time we had about 20 min before the show. So we just started driving down the freeway, and there were people just parked on the side of the road in the grass waiting for the show to start. So we decided to pull off and watch it with all the rest of these smart people. Well seriously not even 10 min before the show was supposed to start police officers in their dumb cop cars came driving up and they started telling people that we had to leave and get off the grass or we would get a ticket... SO... we packed up again and decided to try something esle. We just started driving around and saw that the actual mall parking garage was open and we could probably see the fireworks from there! This was a great idea!! WRONG! We got up there and the top floor was shut off and the next floor was packed full of people. And then the fireworks show started! We got to see a total of 5 fireworks before the clouds of smoke from the fireworks began to put a wall up between us and them! We just decided to leave, and watched some of the firworks on the freeway driving home... and i couldn't believe it! We weren't allowed to park on the grass, but people were PARKED ON THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY!!! That is so dangerous! It was rediculous! So ya it was a very eventful and busy day! But totally worth it! It was crazy fun! Here are some pictures taken throughout the day!
